WAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH

Jenna is driving me absolutely insane. She is sooooooo whiny today. This is one of my biggest pet peeves, and it's something that mothers run into a LOT. It makes me want to climb the walls, and then when I'm on the roof, maybe I can actually have some time to myself!! Seriously, whining makes me want to tear my skin off. Let's see if I can think of any other disgusting things it makes me want to do. Are you sure you want to keep reading? :)

The hardest thing for me to do is to ignore it, because I want to scream at her to stop. It's something that I'm working on.

Right now she is whining about fish sticks, because she wants them right now. I've already explained several times that they are in the oven cooking, but she continues to whine for them.

My skin is about to come off.

What are your biggest pet peeves as a mother? I'm just curious.

Whining is a pretty annoying one for sure. My current biggest parenting pet peeve is children' arguing. Kennedy and Joel are going through some annoying thing where they argue about EVERYTHING. They can turn anything into a scream match. For example, Joel could say something as innocent as, "I like blue." And Kennedy will say, "No you don't." And they they'll go back and forth "Yes,NO, Yes, NO!" until it escalates to hitting. It drives me totally crazy. I'm putting these kids in their rooms all the time or telling them to zip it. One thing Dan and I do instead of yelling is saying, "Shhhh!" really loudly. It gets their attention and usually gets them to be quiet enough for me to say something, without yelling.

Good luck Kerry. This is why moms occasionally need to get out without any kids. I love my monthly book club! :-)

Yeah, whining was my biggie, too. I usually would put you in your rooms until you could be civilized. You guys spent a lot of time in your rooms. :D

One of my favorite quotes was said by one of my favorite writers: Erma Bombeck. It goes something like this:

"When my children are unruly, I use a nice, safe playpen. When they're finished, I climb out."

My current parenting peeve? Screaming. Not the "I just hurt myself really badly" screaming. I hate the "I didn't get what I wanted" or "I don't realize how loud I am" screaming.

The other day, I put up with so much screaming that I actually considered calling my hubby at school and saying, "I hope you have 3 children left when you get home."

GIRL! AMEN! I HATE whining soooo much but I guess that's just part of motherhood. I'm in Utah visiting family right now and I think that is my biggest peeve as a mother...let me explain. My kids don't sleep anywhere but their own beds. We we are out it takes HOURS to get them to sleep (mostly Preston). At home they sleep so easily. I just put them in their cribs and they go to sleep. IT DRIVES ME CRAZY! Because if they aren't sleeping neither am I. Not to mention PReston has gotten up at like 5 every morning. I'm exhausted.
